How a mobile tint job works
We turn up with the film, the tools and the water, and we work where the car is. You do not have to drop it anywhere, wait around, or arrange a ride. Most people leave the key and get on with their day.
Prep is most of the job. The glass gets cleaned and decontaminated properly before any film comes out of the roll, because that is what decides whether the finish is clean.
What we do
- Meter the glass so we know what the factory tint already is
- Check the vehicle class on the door jamb — truck and MPV vehicles have more options
- Clean and decontaminate every window properly, which is most of the job
- Computer-cut or hand-cut the film to the glass
- Heat-shrink curved glass so the film lies flat with no fingers or creases
- Fit, squeegee and inspect each window
Curing
Film is not dry when we leave. There is moisture between the film and the glass that has to evaporate out, and until it does you will see slight haze and possibly small water pockets. That is normal.
Do not roll the windows down for several days. How long depends on the weather — longer in a Pacific Northwest winter than in August. We will tell you the number for the conditions on the day. Rolling a window down early is the single most common way a good tint job gets ruined.

How long does a full car take?
Typically a few hours for a full car, depending on the vehicle and how much old film has to come off first.
How long before I can roll the windows down?
Several days, and it depends on the weather. We will give you the number for the conditions on the day.
Do you tint brand new cars?
Yes, and new is easier - the glass is clean and there is no old adhesive to remove.
